What Causes Severe Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Leg?

ok my child has had leg pain for most of her life, she is nine now. this year besides the knee, hip, thigh, leg pain , she has added some random symptoms like tingling or numbness, shocking pains, itching after shocking pains, dizziness, feeling off balance even when sitting, feeling like and area of leg or back is set on fire. I may be forgetting some but u get the picture. she was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. she has had blood work numerous times that always comes back good except positive ANA sometimes and low vitamin d sometimes. she had mri today on brain that looked good , but there was a small cyst that will be looked at by neurologist in a couple weeks. do you think all symptoms are probably just the fibromyalgia?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to neuropathic causes like peripheral neuropathy.

As of now you can try drugs like gabapentin for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
