What Causes Severe Pain Around The Ribcage On The Left Side?

I have a severe pain in and around my lower left rib area. I ve had all heart, colocoscopy and lung xrays and know one can give me a good diagnosis except i a a healthy 68 year old. My pain is still constant and hurts worse when i lay on my left side?

Hi,

Since lung, heart and bowel have been ruled out, you may need to consider if the pin is related to the muscles or other soft tissues in the re. Another possibility is nerve injury.

Changes in this region would not should up on imaging. The use of anti-inflammatory pain medication would help, e.g., Ibuprofen, Cataflam, Naproxen. You may need to consider a rheumatologist or neurologist for assessment of the pin.
