What Causes Severe Pain At Left Back Radiating Towards Kidney Caused Due To Injury?
I tripped and fell backwards landing hard on the arm of my rocking recliner hitting the back left side .I m in severe pain with any / or no movement .... the pain is from lower back ribs expanding to around my kidney .... the pain is sharp, constant throbbing, and very intense, can t cough, reach, walk, arm/ body movements of all kind would send me to my knees if I could even stand up, but even sitting down is painful ...
* As per my clinical experience, as the intensity of pain is severe, there can be various possible issues as:
- hematoma in renal region with compression of underlying nerve structures
- renal injury in terms of laceration or else
- 12th rib injury as crack or fracture
- spinal cord vertebra transvere process fracture
- paraspinal ligament sprain or strain
- others
* However, a detailed clinical examination is mandatory to rule out and rule in certain diagnostic points in this matter of vivid differential diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
