What Causes Severe Pain At The Back Of The Head After Sneezing Hard?

Yesterday I sneezed 3 times in a row really hard I let it go didn’t hold back. I was sitting at my computer working turn my head to the left and sneezed. During my sneezing I felt sharp pain in the back of my head or should I say in my head behind the left ear. It still hurts today could I have strained a muscle or burst a blood vessel in my neck or brain? Should I be worried?

Hello,

Your symptoms are related to changes in the air pressure inside the inner ear. You should know that the nose and the inner ear are closely related to each other by some tubes, which circulate the air. There is no need for any tests. Your situation is going to recover spontaneously.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka
