What Causes Severe Pain Behind Right Eye?

my wife has a strong migraine type headache behind her right eye, about one hour ago she took two ibuprofen and I just gave her two excedrine migraine pills and some coca cola for caffeine . Still has it and is in bed but the pain has subsided some.

I can understand your concern.
You have done right thing by giving her painkillers.
Along with painkillers, also give her
1. Combination of Propranolol and flunarizine.
2. Apply ice packs on right eye.
3. Tell her to drink plenty of fluids orally and avoid stress and tension.
Don't worry, her pain will mostly subside in 6-8 hours by all these.
If not subsiding by these, consult doctor.
