What Causes Severe Pain Behind The Eyes And Dilated Pupils?

my daughter, 17 years old, is having lots of eye pain. her pupils have been staying dilated (equally) and she is having lots of pain in and behind her eyes. i have now taken her to the eye doctor and he ruled out anything wrong with the actual eye but said there looked to be a small amount of edema behind the eye. I have since taken her to her regular doctor who ordered several test and ruled out allergies and sinus problems. we are now waiting on a CT scan and referral to a neurologist. I am getting really concerned about this. could you please try to shed some light on this for me?

may be optic neuritis with oph ophthalmologist. should consult eye doctor for fundus examination and diagnose the cause of edema.. visual acuity and record iot.
