What Causes Severe Pain Behind The Left Ear?

My husband is 66 years old, has severe Parkinson s Disease and epilepsy. His blood pressure is typically low normal. He has been complaining of a severe headache behind his left ear, which did not go away using both Tylenol and followed with a Hydrocodone about an hour later. His current B/P is 143/94. I retook his B/P 3 times, each time coming up with the same numbers. Should he go to emergency or should I just keep an eye on him throughout the day and continue taking B/P several times today in the event the numbers go up?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Blood pressure has nothing to take anything with the symptoms of headache. It is okay, if you are reading blood pressure frequently, but that may not be helpful neither will give any clue.

Parkinson and epilepsy altogether is less likely.Headache could be due to some functional elements, but it has to be ruled out for cerebral disease, and MRI is advisable. Gabapentin can be tried orally in tablet form.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
