What Causes Severe Pain Below The Navel After Having Some Pulses And Soup?

I have o I ihad differet stools for some time but lately they became dark always sink and not hard. Then 4 days ago I started to feel funny in my lower track.Didn t eat that night. and developed sharp pain below my navel. I had eaten some Indian dawl with mango pickle and first suspected that. But the pain persisted. I have water fasted since then only eating soup yesterday and today. I stayed home from work yesturday. I notice that it hurts more after I ate the soup tonight. Like it is back like it was Friday. My twin brother has had diverticulitus and fasted until it was better. so I am trying this with that assumption. What do you think Doc?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to intestinal colic. Nothing much to worry and it will settle y itself. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
