What Causes Severe Pain Below The Sternum?
I have high abdominal pain located at the base of my sternum. Feels like a knife is stabbing me. If I sit up straight it helps some but does not fully relieve. I do not have a gallbladder anymore but symptoms are similar to what I experienced when I did have gallstones.

Hello,
Most probably it could be due to gastritis. We have to rule out other causes like gallbladder stones.
As of now, you can take antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist you can consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an ultrasound scan.
