What Causes Severe Pain During Urination In Spite Of Taking Cipro For Prostatitis?

I was seen at the emergency room on 12/9/15 at 1:30 am for what turned out to be prostatitis, and a bladder infection, I was given cipro,and docyclene. Along with pain meds and flowmax. And I don t feel any relief yet, I m in severe pain when I try to urinate.I don t get to see the urologist until Wednesday, my question is how long does it take for me to start feeling any relief?

Hi,
From history it seems that after antibiotic medicine as there is no relief it indicates that either 1, causing organisms producing UTI might be resistant to these antibiotic or 2, there might be having renal calculi producing this problem.
Go for routine urine test for bacteria and RBC.
Also go for culture sensitivity test which will show causing organisms and antibiotic medicines working against them.
After report go for treatment accordingly.
