Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My large toe is in horrible pain..nothing visually..it really hurts where the nail and the skin meet on the left side of the toe. I do have fungal toe nails..all of them..all of my life..the other night the toe bled when I rubbed some Voltaren Gel on it..the toe is extremely painful at night time, especially..and I do not know why. It has been this way for months now.
noted history of severe pain on big toe. based from your description, it is possible that you have an inflammation/infection secondary to an ingrown toenail. this usually happens after a pedicure or when your toenail is accidentally cut wrongly. it may also be a recurrence of your fungal infection. it is best if you consult with a doctor for physical examination and clinical evaluation. management (medical and/or surgical if indications are found) will be directed accordingly. good hygiene and avoidance of manipulation over the affected area are also advised.
hope this helps.
good day!!
