What Causes Severe Pain In Diaphragm And Hiatus Area?
Hi. I have severe pain in diaphragm and hiatus area. Suddenly get locked in position maybe when walking or lifting. When I can move again the pain continues for several hours, Have been being treated for several years for a cough but no one really know s what the actual cause is other than a tiny hole in the hiatus causing air to tickle throat. Cough when talking, changing temperature, or exertion. Now cannot tackle the slightest incline or stairs as can't get breath. Pain becoming more severe and more debilitating.
I think this can be due to gastritis or due to ulcer so an ultrasound examination of whole abdomen will be required to rule out other causes , endoscopy may be required , start a course of pantoprazole.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
