What Causes Severe Pain In Elbow, Shoulders And Arm After An Injury?
I fell down 13 stairs at home and had a triad break of my elbow. After nearly 6 months since surgery I still have elbow pain but also severe shoulder and arm pain. Xrays on elbow and shoulder show no structural damage but pain is still pretty bad. What could be causing this?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of pain in elbow, shoulders and arm after a injury which could be due to many reasons such as soft tissue injury like tendon and ligament , fracture , joint dislocation , tendinitis or injury to cervical portion of spine . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan MRI along with physical examination . Doctor may give plaster to arm in case of fracture , recommend physical therapy , prescribe anti inflammatory , muscle relaxant or particular stretching exercises . For now take proper rest , apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
