What Causes Severe Pain In Elbows?

fell on ice last wed. and landed hard on elbow. elbow hurt extremely bad but once I took two alleve and iced was tolerable. was traveling and thus didn't ice since last night but continued allege two times a day. it is black and blue and seems more sensitive especially when moving elbow. should I go get this x-rayed. people have told me there is not much you can do for an elbow but ice and ibuprofen.
