What Causes Severe Pain In Foot Radiating To Toes?
I have had tendinitis issues for the past year but I currently have severe pain in the top of my foot radiating from between the first and second toes. An X-ray showed no fracture but I can barely walk. This has been going on for 6 weeks. What can I do? I m a runner and am going crazy. Thanks.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Experiencing severe pain in the foot and radiating to the toes could be due to 'plantar fascitis'. In this condition, X-ray would be absolutely normal and does not show any fractures. It is caused due to inflammation of the plantar fascia, which is quite common among athletes. It is advisable to give rest for 6 weeks completely along with undergoing rehabilitation. Kindly take analgesics like diclofenac with serratiopeptidase after food. Also apply ice packs to the affected area twice daily. You need to apply topically analgesic gel at bed time. Physiotherapy using ultrasound massage and foot relaxation exercises would help to overcome this problem. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
