What Causes Severe Pain In Incision Site Post Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery?

I had laparoscopic Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass 8 weeks ago. My recovery was typical and free of complications. About 36 hours ago I began to feel some abdominal soreness as if I had overdone an activity. I had not engaged in any unusual or strenuous activity. Since then the soreness has worsened. Now I feel like I m one week post-op again. The main incision site hurts continually. If I am sitting/laying down the the pain is a 3. When I stand, bend, cough, sneeze, etc the pain goes up to a 5. The pain appears to be spreading . It now is radiating to my back. I have also had intermittent minor lower abdominal cramping. I have read about post-op complications 2 months out and nothing seems to fit my symptoms. I don t want to go to the ER and find it s nothing to be concerned about any more than I want to ignore symptoms and allow a condition to worsen. What do you think this could be? Should I be concerned? Thank you!

Hello

As you explain the situation usually it is normal to have some pain after this surgery. But a new pain it's not a good sign. I suggest you to do an abdominal ultrasound to be sure if everything is going well
Please talk with your doctor

Regards
