What Causes Severe Pain In Left Shoulder That Radiates Down To Hand?

hi, I have a simple question; I stared with severe pain in my left shoulder that runs down my arm into my hand. I also have trouble moving my arm and my hands are very cold. I am not having chest pains or difficulty breathing. I am a 51 year old woman with a MVP, should I be worried this is a heart attack?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain in left shoulder radiating to left arm is most probably caused by some musculoskeletal or nerve related problem.
However, a possibility of cardiac ailment cannot be ruled out.
Thus, I suggest you to consult a cardiologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations.
Trouble while moving hand is more suggestive of musculoskeletal pain.
Cold clammy hands suggests poor circulation in hand.
MVP is a structural anomaly and not likely to cause ischemic heart disease (IHD).
However, a basic clinical assessment will determine the cause of pain in shoulder radiating to arm and hand.

Thanks and take care
