What Causes Severe Pain In Lower Back And Nausea?

I m having really bad lower back pain all across my back, feel nauseous, and like I m going to be sick. It s been two weeks since I went to the doctor last and she thought I might have small kidney stones and to cut out caffeine which I have done. I ve been drinking cranberry juice and lots of water. Could this be kidney stones? The area of pain is not in the kidney location.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,
In any kidney stones the pain radiates from the back to your groin and the back pain does not have any definable cause that may have triggered it say like you moving some heavy weights or sleeping on a new bed with incorrect posture. For a better diagnosis you may get an ultrasound abdomen which well localize most of the stones or if affordability is not an issue the a CT contrast visualization of the kidney, ureter and bladder.

For the time being you can have plenty of fluids and tab buscopan 10 mg to reduce the pain. You can have upto 2 tablets a day.

Hope this helps,
