What Causes Severe Pain In Lower Legs After A C-section Delivery?

hi doctor, I delivered a baby girl 5 months ago through c-section. the area below the knee and above the ankle pain a lot when I lift some weight. Earlier I was never happened with me, since one month I am facing this problem. One more thing when I got up earlier in the morning, the bone ends at the heel, pain a lot, even when I touch it, this bone is also too much paining. There is still swelling on my body. my current weight is around 75 kg, my height is 5 feet 6 inch(175). Please suggest me what should I do.

Hello,

Coming to your problem. As post-C-section surgery usually the patient is recommended for postpartum exercises so the muscle weakness can be corrected and later the Healthy lifestyle can be achieved.

In your case, the pain below the knee and above the ankle is causing due to the weight gain and lack of muscle strength. I will advise you to lose weight and regain muscle strength with the combination of diet and exercise.

Usually, in my clinical practice patients undergoing pre partum classes don't face such issues as the metabolism of the muscle is taken care of beforehand. But in your case, we need to work little harder to lose weight and regain muscle strength so that you don't land up into this pain for long and damage the weight-bearing joints.
