What Causes Severe Pain In Middle Finger At The Tip?

There is a fish bone stuck in my middle finger at the tip. It is extremely painful. Should i just dip it in hydrogen peroxide or do I need to see a doctor? I cannot see the bone. It is way down in my finger. I cannot even feel the bone. The only thing i can feel is horrible pain.

Hello,

You are experiencing severe pain in the middle finger at the tip. Since you cannot see the fish bone in your finger but it is painful you are suggested to get it clinically examined by a GP. The foreign body needs to be removed at the earliest. Neglect will result in infection, abscess or worse complications.

Failure to remove it often results in persistence of infection. Visit ER, get it clinically evaluated. You may have to get done X-ray, CT / MRI. It will be removed by surgical treatment and an antibiotic therapy will be given orally for faster healing of the wound.

You will be given analgesics. If needed antiseptic treatment will be given & antiseptic dressing done. Be careful to keep the finger clean and hygienic otherwise it will take a long time to heal. Give the finger rest. Stay away from addictions if any.
