What Causes Severe Pain In My Legs?

I'm 27 and have a titanium plate and six pins in my right thema from a car accident when I was twelve. Recently I've experienced acute pain when I do lots of impact activity for a prolonged period, this pain get worse at night but my legs goes back to normal after some rest. Recently I've had a bad bout of it, with considerably worse pain. What might this be?
