What Causes Severe Pain In Neck While On Warfarin And Anti Inflammatories?

can only take Tylenol extra strength. Went to Dr. office today and he did not see him but gave him a script to start therapy on Monday with an office visit on Tues. He is on warfarin and can t take anti-inflammatories. He can Tylenol extra strength but the pain right now is so severe he can hardly stand it. Could the nerve be pinched now from holding his head awkwardly? He can hardly move. I got him in the bed but he is immobilized, really. Ice pack on neck now. Had heat before and seem to make it worse. Anything else we can do??? Thank you so much for whatever help you can give us.

Hello,

I think he may need to put on a neck cast to support the neck. Also, he may need to take something stronger like Ibuprofen or Naproxen to reduce pain and inflammation. He may need to reduce a bit anticoagulants dosage because anti-inflammatory drugs may increase the bleeding tendency.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
