What Causes Severe Pain In Right Chest?

Hi, I was awakened by a really terrible pain in my right chest, I got up and sat up and breathed through it (about 5 minutes). I went back to sleep and had a dream that my left leg was hurting so much that I could not walk and, in the dream I was trying to find a doctor. I woke to find the pain was real. I stood up, staggered around stretched, rubbed it, and the pain has largely subsided after 15 minutes awake. What is going to hit me next? What is going on?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion it is nothing but muscular pain due to muscle pull.
But as a rule , in chest pain we have to rule out cardiac and pulmonary causes first.
So please get done
1. ECG to rule out cardiac cause.
2. Chest x ray to rule out pulmonary cause.
If both of these are normal than it is mostly due to muscular origin.
And you also relieved by message and rubbing which also favours muscular pain.
So try to follow these
1. Avoid heavy weight lifting.
2. Avoid bad postures during sleep.
3. Avoid movement causing pain.
4. Take pain killers and muscle relaxant.
5. Wear chest belt to decrease the movement of affected side.
