What Causes Severe Pain In Right Leg Despite Using Cortisone Shot?

Severe pain in right leg (mostly knee) Doctors have done X rays and MRI. Diagnosed with osteoarthritis, bone spurs and torn meniscus. Treated with cortisone shot and Mobic. It is worse... Much worse. I am unable to put any weight on it at all... I have to wait 2 more weeks for an appointment. Is there any way to get something done before then?? I can not stay like this any longer :(

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in right leg despite using Cortisone shot . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like avascular necrosis , bursitis , gout , baker's cyst , fracture , muscle strain , pinched nerve or sciatica . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically or order CT scan, MRI, ultrasound or x-ray to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe analgesic , anti inflammatory or antibiotics . For now apply warm compresses on leg , take proper rest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
