What Causes Severe Pain In Right Side Of The Abdomen?

I have a VERY Sharp Pin Prick on my right side while seated. I had just had a cup of tea. It has happened before but my concern is that it will increase and taking me out. The pain is that severe. I have occasional diverticulitis and as fate would have it I am having a colonoscopy on Monday.
