Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in sciatica radiating to the groin and leg . Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg .
Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes pinched, usually by a herniated disk in your spine or by an overgrowth of bone on your vertebrae . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order X-ray , MRI , CT scan and electromyography .
For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and inflammation .
Doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatory , muscle relaxant , tricyclic antidepressants and anti-seizure medications . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy along with steroid injection and surgery .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
