Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In Shin Along With Tingling Sensation In Foot?
I just got kneed in the mid shin and extreme pain followed. It hurt to walk on it and the pain has just gotten worse. I have soreness all over my shin and a pain feeling like 2 halves of my shins are being pushed together. My foot is tingling and it hurts to walk. What should I do?
From the symptoms mentioned by you, a few possible causes are fractured shin, a contusion leading to compression of nerve, or a fracture of the fibula. Consult an orthopedic doctor as soon as possible. Until then, you can use NSAIDs for pain relief like tab. Ibuprofen or Aceclofenac.
As you may get gastric irritation with the above medication, please take tab. Pantop 40mg before food. You may need to undergo an X-ray to diagnose any fracture.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
