What Causes Severe Pain In Shoulders, Hips, Knees And Legs With Impaired Balance?

I am 50 years old and am concerned. For the past year and a half I have had pain with my shoulders. I thought it was due to encapsulated implants from breast cancer. The implants were removed. THen a year ago I started having horrible pain in my legs, feet, hips and knees. Now I am having trouble walking, dropping things, vertigo, imbalanced etc. My fatigue is off the scale.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Severe pain radiating from the hips, legs, knees & feet is indicative of Sciatica, Arthritis, Osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia, muscle sprain.

You are suggested to visit a GP & get physically examined. To detect Arthritis & sciatica your treating doctor will tell you to get X-Ray, CT, MRI & blood tests done.

Get Nerve function tests, Nerve biopsy, EEG to rule out any peripheral neuropathy developing.

Take Naproxen to get rid of pain when required. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
