What Causes Severe Pain In The Abdomen?

Hi, Ive had pretty sever stomach pain for the past few days. It started just in waves but is pretty constant now. It is in the upper abdomen but my back is starting to ache also. It feels very painful but akin to hunger pangs, but when I eat it doesn t help. I am also on my period at the moment which usually brings cramps but noting ever like this. Do I just wait this out?
