What Causes Severe Pain In The Arms While Sleeping?
Hi. I woke up two nights ago to an excruciating pain in my right arm. It hurt so much that I wanted to cry. I checked signs for a stroke but I was ok. I took two Advils and sit quietly until the pain eased up. I feel ok now other than numbness in the tips of my fingers on the right hands. Please tell me what this could be and what I should do? I have not been to my doctor but plan to call tomorrow. Thanks
the location and movement of a pain gives clues as to what is going on nerve issues are broken down into two groups...pinched versus sick. Pinched would be problems that are intermittant, go out from where the pinch is, and are here and there. sick is all of them a little bit and from the ends outward. There can be both at the same time but coincedences are really rare. One starting for years then another happening is quite common. So, it wouldn't be an arm evenly over "arm" because that isn't how the wiring goes.cannot say in your particular case, but generally, it would be some part of the arm in a band out from the neck where the nerve is pinched (or shoulder...sleeping in a funny position). It can be days/weeks if the pinch really hurt something but it gets better
