What Causes Severe Pain In The Back?

I get pain in the middle of my back on the left side after being up for a few hours. Depending on what I m doing it can get pretty bad. Lifting shafts at work etc. Then it might move from that spot on my left middle back to the side when I sit down. Driving home from work it is really bad and will move to the side (left). I can t sit or stand when it is bad, I have to lay down. Amazingly, when I get up in the morning there is no pain. Does this sound like arthritus?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to arthritis or disc problems with vertebrae. A physical examination by orthopedician will be helpful to rule out the condition. In such case life style modification, physiotherapy and muscle relaxants will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
