What Causes Severe Pain In The Buttocks?

I have intense pain in my buttocks, that is now travelling to my legs and feet. My neurosurgeon says there is no nerve damage. My piriformis may be to blame, and I had osgood slatter in my butt area in tenth grade. Feet go numb and very painful , as well as my buttocks. ???

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your description it seems like a condition called sciatica which is due to compression or inflammation of sciatic nerve which is the main nerve of your buttock and upper thigh. You can take analgesics like Gabapentin or Tramadol for pain. You can consult a psychiatrist for pain management and body posture adjustments and exercises for pain relief. Surgery is rarely required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
