What Causes Severe Pain In The Chest?

Chest pain -- severe, right in the middle of my chest between my breasts. Lasted about 10-15 minutes. I chewed a couple of pepto bismal tablets. It went away about 10 minutes after that. Not burning, but severe, tight-feeling. I ve had this before, and the first time I went hospital. It turned out to be something like heartburn. What s the best way to treat this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to heartburn.
I suggest you to use PPI medication such as Omeprazole once tablet a day before breakfast. I also suggest you to avoid food that triggers the symptoms such as alcohol and caffeine. I also suggest to avoid stress, which may trigger the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
