What Causes Severe Pain In The Elbow?

Hi my elbow have ached for 4 days now .. They ache all through the day and especially if I bend my arms. They do hurt worse at night. I didn t do anything that would have hurt them. It does feel like I sleep funny because I sleep with my arms bent but I don t lay on them. I am 44 years old last year I did a diet and had blood test done and I was told the I had crystals in my blood. Not sure if that is related and if it is gout. I did have aching elbows during that time of the test. Just never heard of gout in elbows. I don t see bruising but to the touch it feels like bruising. There is no swelling. I am 5 7 and 140 pounds.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms can be related to gout.

I suggest to do uric acid level to confirm the diagnosis.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
