What Causes Severe Pain In The Feet And Radiating Lower Back Pain?

I have been in retail sales for most of my adult life and have worn leather soled dress shoes. Now I am having pain in my feet primarily the right one. The pain is mainly concentrated in the pad of area close to my toes. I also have pain in my lower back radiating down thru my hip on my right side. Are the two associated and what can I do, I have not seen a podiatrist.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think this situation can be related to a sciatica nerve issue. You can use anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil or naproxen for pain relief and inflammation. Also, you can have a rest for the first 48 hours. After that period of time, you can try physiotherapy to improve your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
