What Causes Severe Pain In The Groin Area On The Left Side?

I had a laminotomy 6 months ago original symptoms gone except have occasional sciatica and fir past month have intermittent left groin pain that burns and is painful in the front of my thigh . Sometimes on way home from work it wakes me with a sharp Burning pain and when I try to lift the left leg it still hurts a lot never had this before. Doesn t go below knee thank you
