What Causes Severe Pain In The Groin Area While Turning The Leg?
In my right groin area, between pelvic and hip, I experience pain when turning leg or just walking and there seems to be a catching, (like knuckle cracking) or twinge that takes my strength away from leg. When trying to stretching exercises given me I can hear the cracking sound and some movement from that area (as if out of joint or moving in joint). I am seeing a PT, and I suspect it s more than a tendinitis in a tendon or ligament. Given my symptoms a hip- acetabular-labral tear seems possible. I will see the MD on Monday. Can it be detected without an MRI?
Brief answer: No, it is very difficult to diagnose a soft tissue injury without imaging
Detailed answer: There are multiple causes of pain in Hip like- Osteoarthritis Fracture tendonitis and Bursitis Muscle pull Avascular necrosis
while bony injuries like fracture, arthritis, Avascular necrosis can be diagnosed with X ray, but for diagnosis of soft tissue injuries like tendonitis can only be diagnose with higher imaging studies like MRI Hope this information answers your question, Thank you
