What Causes Severe Pain In The Head On The Right Side?

I have a sharp stabbing pain in my right side of my head as I first doze off or if I am awakened shortly after or during going to sleep. j It only lasts 15 seconds and doesn t repeat unless I get awakened again a couple minutes later. Sometimes I can feel the pain also behind my right eye as I doze off. Again, it only lasts a few seconds.
