What Causes Severe Pain In The Heels And Lower Back?

I have painin both heels. After sitting for an hour or two, when I stand up my legs feels very stiff on unstable. I occasionally get sharp, radiating pain in ly lower back, left hip area. Also, and I assume unrelated, both of my arms go asleep and tingly if I lay on either side while sleeping.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

From your symptoms, it seems that you are suffering from plantar fasciitis. It happens due to inflammation of the plantar fascia.

A short term rest and oral anti-inflammatory drugs are required to take care of the inflammation.

To help the pain, ice the area immediately after getting up in the morning. You can use either a store-bought cold pack or a frozen wet towel.

Ice for 10 or 15 minutes. To reduce inflammation, take Aspirin or Ibuprofen at mealtime.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
