What Causes Severe Pain In The Hips And Knees At Night?

I have pain in my hips, knees and they come mostly at night. Sometimes it feels like it is in the bone below my knee. My right leg is the one I have most of the problems. It isn t every night, but is quite often especially if I have been on my feet a lot during the day. We just moved to a home with hardwood and tile floors, and spending a lot of time moving in the last two weeks. Have also had some back pain, but is better when I sit down. Walking very much really tires my legs out.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an early sign of conditions like arthritis. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
