General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Acute onset of muscle and joint pain is commonly related to an infection, commonly viral.
In most cases, there may be additional symptoms such as fever. There are some medications, like statins, that can also cause muscle aches and pains.

If the pain continues or worsens when you consider visiting your doctor for an assessment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
