What Causes Severe Pain In The Joints?

Hi I am dealing with irregular menstral cycles. Heavy bleeding and during the cycle I get a feeling like I have the flu. Aching joints all over my body from my scalp to my toenails. I also get very very cold I can t warm up. Usually ibuprofen and sleep it passes but what worries me is that it gets so severe I think I am dying . Is this a symptom of menopause or something more serious?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you are approaching menopause age (45-50 years), all your symptoms are more suggestive of Menopausal syndrome. Most common cause for these symptoms is hormonal imbalance. So better to consult gynecologist and get done clinical examination and hormone levels. You may need hormone pills to regulate hormones. Once your hormones are normalize, you will be alright with all these symptoms. Psychological support, positive attitude and behaviour are also important in speedy recovery. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
