What Causes Severe Pain In The Knee After A Replacement?

hi sir my mother is injured at 28 april2011her one side front boll was cracked and it was replaced after opreation but her leg has too pain and she take madicine of calcium ,pain but no effect and doctor said that her muscle s are weak so tell me how much time she take to feeling proper? and sir she also suffered from diabetes.
