Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am approximately 50 lbs overweight, 58 years old with no known health problems..I climbedd up and down a ladder several weeks ago for at least three hours. no Pain on climbing, or descending but the next day the pain in my left knee was almost unbearable. the pain is more localized behind the knee, but turning the knee a certain way causes severe pain...it feels almost like it is hyper extending..bending the knee is somewhat painfual and when I straightened it and try to walk it is almost excruciating.
As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
