Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

Shooting pains like electrical currents, are usually nerve related pains, this can either be a nerve stuck in between bony structures called nerve impingement, or it can be a nerve stuck between some spasmed muscles.

I would advise you to visit your doctor he might want to get some examination done on your leg by doing different maneuvers like flexion and extension, high end testing like CT scan spins can also be done to see nerve impingement, if nothing serious is found then just a simple pain killer and muscle relaxant is expected to help you big time.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
