What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Knee?

My left knee has been aching for a few weeks, getting progressively worse, to the point now where the inside of my knee from the midpoint of the knee down towards the shin is swollen, very painful, and the knee feels unstable. Walking hurts, particularly on the forward motion of my step.

Hello,

Get the knee examined by the doctor. That sounds like knee arthritis or osteoarthitis. Only examination by the doctor may help identify the exact cause. If need be, a knee x-ray and ultrasound may be requested. In the meantime, a pain/anti-inflammatory drug like Aceclofenac may help.
