What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Leg While On Levofloxacin?

My doctor put me on levofloxacin for bladder infection. I took one yesterday and felt bad all day. Woke up this morning and can hardly walk on my left leg. Pain shooting all the way up. The pill I took today came back up so will go to the dr. tomorrow. I saw where it could cause tendon rupture. If that is what I have, will it heal by itself??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

The pain you are experiencing is due to tendonitis as a result of use of Levofloxacin.Switching to another antibiotic like Nitrofurantoin for the UTI will help relieve the tendinitis. Meanwhile, take Advil for pain, rest and apply ice on the area of pain.

Hope this answers your question
Please let me know if you need further clarification
