Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service. I reviewed your query and here is my advice. Of course pain is due to osteoarthritis of spine and herniated disc compressing nerve roots. Treatment consists *analgesic pain releivers acetaminophen and NSAID advil for pain and inflammation *topical creams with NSAID voltaren or lidocaine patches *narcotics medications oxycodone *muscle relaxants *injections with hyaluronic acid and corticosteroids Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
