What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back On The Right Side?

My husband is experiencing acute pain in his lower rt back. He has a bad back, but pain is different than this and lower. He has a temp of 101.6. Hard to breathe when moving, hard to get up. Recently had stomach flu, 1 wk ago. Need advice as to whether I should take to hospital or wait. Thanks you. He is 68, normal weight, scheduled for back surgery in Jne, has 4 stints.

I think you should go to hospital for further evaluation. I think the kidney stones are an option also accompanied by infection.
