What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back While Suffering From Spondylosis?

HI I have been diagnosed with lumbar spondylosis. after being rear ended in a wreck. I was stopped due to everyone stopping in front of me.I was rear ended by a delivery van tunning aroud 70 mph. I Have had sever lower back pain. ever since. My Doctor did RFA on my lower back HUGE relief. however He wrote a letter and in it he said I had pre existing Lumbar Spondylosis ?? I have never had pain like this. Also my heart rate was 20 when taken by ambulance to the ER and i was kept strapped to a backboard for 5 and a half hours the ER Doctor would come by every so often and then took me off the backboard for xrays. I had to wait months have seen 3 Cardiologist and wound up with a heart rate of 48. then I could have the following procedures done. 1) Right eye cataract bunched up in the middle of my eye. Had to have cataract surgery 2) had total left knee replaced and inside partial on right Knee 3)went thru months of neck therapy 4) had a few epidurals that did not work. My Doctor performed a procedure to see if RFA would help it proved that RFA was an option. RFA has been like a miracle cure. However I still have a lot of soreness in my lower back. You thoughts would be appreciated

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a physiatrist and get evaluated.

The pain is due to nerve compression.

You can consider analgesics like tramadol or gabapentin.

If symptoms persists surgical correction might be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
